Magellan Vantage Point / Windows 10 users
I have searched well , right through out the internet , without success , for a reference to an Issue I had with running Magellan Vantage Point on my Windows 10 Acer lap top . I ended up working the issue out for myself so will hereby make it known for anyone else having this or similar issues how to change what is required to run said program .
The issue I had was ;
When the Vantage Point program was opened with the Skin choice of Night , all was Hunky Dory . When the Skin choice was changed to daylight , which I much prefer due to contrast issues with the Night setting , the mapping was all haywire , multiple lines that were like a visual echo all across the screen . No amount of deleting and reinstalling had any effect .
The fix I finally ( after 3 fruitless days of digging and deleting and reinstalling ) found is rather simple though not quite explainable ....... Right click on the program in the program folder , select - Run with Graphics Processor . Then select - High performance Processor . This then starts the program using the HP processor and the program runs fine .... as it does on every other platform I have used it on .
I have no idea why the Night skin runs without the HP processor but the day skin does not , strange quirk .......... but none the less I have fixed my issue .
I also find it strange that the default processor is NOT the High Performance processor , though I suspect it may be a power saving measure on Acer's part......due to being a lap top .
I hope this helps some one out there in cyber land out !
