2017 Stage 2 TQ Sound
I have a CVO Limited with about 5,000 miles. Stage 2 TQ cam, Street Cannon mufflers and the Harley stage 2 download through the Screamin Eagle Street Tuner. The good news is the bike performs GREAT? Nice power where I need it 2,000 - 4,000 rpms.
Now I know there are other tuners, exhaust etc. out there that may help the bike reach it's full potential but that is not my question. Until Harley figures out all of the EPA, warranty I will stay where I am.
The question is the sound at idle. When I start the bike it has a nice sound, a little cam lope and idles between 850 - 1000. Once it gets hot it sounds horrible at idle. My wife commented that it sounded like it was trying to throw something up. There is also a lot of vibration in the motor. Maybe not quite as much as my older bike but more than the CVO I test rode before I bought mine. It was suggested to turn off the heat management system to see if tha helped, it didn't, and I am not sure that is the best solution since I live in the south and ride when it is hot. I talked to a guy with the stage iv and he said it was just the cams. The dealer also seems to think it is normal due to the cam. At speed the bike is extremely smooth and runs great.
Thoughts if the cam would affect the idle that much? I know it would change it but just not sure how much...Thanks in advance for any help and imput.
