1979 Yamaha XS750 Special High Idle
I've been riding this vintage beauty for nearly two years now, with only minor mechanical issues until last week... I decided I'd put a cafe racer style handlebar on. Installation went well, but once I turned the bike on it would immediately idle at about 5K RPMs.
I figured it would be something with the throttle body, but looking at other forums, everyone recommended cleaning the carburetors. So I took off the carbs and cleaned everything as perscribed, but it didn't fix the problem.
Adjusting the idle screw and/or air screws has no affect on the crazy idle speed.
Has anyone had this problem?
Could it possibly have something to do with the increased on the throttle wire?
