180+ real world miles
I'm ready for a new chapter for some adrenaline after selling my dual sport bike. Been riding dirt bikes 40+ years... currently still have a 2009 Goldwing for my long distance camping and 2up riding adventures.
But I have to admit that I'm missing that adrenaline rush that keeps pulling at me... i'm thinking a bike like an FZ-09 or similar would help satisfy the craving. I'm prefer a bit more upright seating position.
What has me paused is the fuel range. I live in Southern California and most of the curvy roads are an hour away. So there will be distance involved just to get to the fun.
Last year a group of us rode up to Highway 299 and down and across Highway 36... what a blast!! But the guy on the Concours14 had to make sure his tank was full before coming across Hwy 36. I wonder if the FZ-09 could even make Hwy 36.
Are there any bikes like the FZ-09 that get 180+ miles per tank with normal riding?? Does this ever factor into your decision to buy a small fun bike??
