Buell - LED turn signal upgrade

Ironhead Sportster Motorcycle Talk (1957-1985) - The Sportster and Buell Motorcycle Forum - xlforum.net
So as I was rebuilding my 74 XLH I decided to go for LED lights, the only exception being the headlight. That old school look can't be duplicated by any LED. I did this mostly because the bike didn't come with any turn signals or tail lights when I bought it, but also because the new lights fit the look I was going for.

I left the traditional flasher wired in as per the FSM. The front signals light when I push the button, but the rears don't seem to flash. The tail light is lit, but no flashing. I have to push the directional button intermittently for the fronts to flash.

Do I have to change/upgrade the flasher for LEDs?

Oh yeah- and the turn signals only work when the lights are on. I wired the entire bike new and everything else seems to be working fine. I have power from the "I" to the accessory CB while the lights are still off, but no turn signals. Would the flasher be the problem for this also? I'm gonna dig into the headlight bucket wiring this week to try and sort that out.
