Sportster Motorcycle General Discussion and Problems - The Sportster and Buell Motorcycle Forum - xlforum.net
I just bought my first Harley. It's a 2005 1200c and it only has 5000 miles. The rear pads are OK but the brakes were weak. I removed the pads, cleaned it all up and returned it all to orginal condition. Now I have no rear brakes. Nothing seems to be coming out of the master cylinder. It will not bleed anything but an eyedrop. I've read a few posts here and there about the rear MC problems so I removed it and took it apart. I have the service manual to guide me along and all went according to plan until the last step. For those of you with the service manual please look at the exploded diagram of the rear master. To my surprise I do not have parts 16 or 17? There is no spring or primary cup as the diagram shows. The piston was the last part that came out. There is still something rubber inside the main body. Have I misunderstood something or is there more than one rear master cylinder type for this model?

Nice to be here, Thx.
