GS2008 - Showa rear shock started to leak, is it replaceable it with WP?
It seems i am one of the lucky people - rear shock started to leak - 42k km, no offroard.
Back of the bike is moving now like a pogo stick , Showa made.
Now the good part is that i have a backup as I have received from previous owner one rear shock but is WhitePower in good condition.
The WP is labeled as 33537728209.
The bad part - my ECU seems not to work with the new WP. I did try to calibrate with GS911 and the result of the calibration operation is not consistent: 2 or 3 times the rear calibration works fine and it shows 63 from 2050 position (which seems to be real), 2-3 times the gs911 is showing a message - error with front ESA sensor (this is strange), sometimes is showing an error saying that something like minimum position cant be reached or purely is registering an error in ZFE - 41768.
However - outside of the calibration result - esa button is not influencing at all the rear shock position. I can select different loading - 1 rider, 1rider+luggage or 2 riders but no move on the rear shock. Mil is not active but surely a error is logged - 41768 - Rear ESA sensor malfunction.
A ticket was opened with GS911 team and their answer is that the bike computer is not compatible/doesnt know to work with this new WP shock (even on the realoem the part number is fully compatible) and a visit to bmw dealer is required maybe for an ZFE software update.
Did anyone tried to replace an Showa shock with WP shock, both with ESA.
Was that possible?
